Public Transportation
To get to Isla Mujeres, you must first get to one of the maritime terminals in Puerto Juarez and public transportation is one way to do it.
If you are at the Cancun Airport, you will have to take an ADO bus or walk about 20 minutes outside the airport and take the Playa Express shuttle.
Both options have the ADO terminal as their destination. At this point, you have to go out again to the main avenue, where you will take a bus to Portillo Avenue. And again, at this point you have to take a bus or colectivo to Puerto Juarez.
This way you can get to the maritime terminal of Puerto Juarez, just consider that this way of doing it is very «tedious» and at the same time, the public transportation units are not equipped with ample space, WIFI, air conditioning and you have to be very careful with pickpockets in the vehicles.
